STEPS TO FOLLOW WHEN ABSENT
A parent or guardian may phone the school and inform the Attendance Office of the absence before 10:00 A.M. on the day of absence OR the parent/guardian may write an excuse giving student name, date, dates of absence, reason for absence, and his/her signature. Parents who fail to clear an absence within 72 hours or the absence will be noted as UNEXCUSED. Students found guilty of forging signatures, altering absence slips/notes will be sent to the Attendance Office for appropriate disciplinary consequences. Students must present their written note or doctors’ verification to attendance clerk in the high school office. Teachers are provided with the reason for the student absence the following school day. It is required that the absence be cleared the day of the absence, or by 8:15am the following morning or the student will be sent to the office. It is the student and parent responsibility to clear all absences by providing the appropriate verification.

PASOS A SEGUIR EN CASO DE AUSENCIA
Un padre o tutor puede llamar a la escuela e informar a la Oficina de Asistencia de la ausencia antes de las 10:00 a. m. el día de la ausencia O el padre/tutor puede escribir una excusa dando el nombre del estudiante, la fecha, las fechas de la ausencia, el motivo de la ausencia y su firma. Los padres que no aclaren una ausencia dentro de las 72 horas o la ausencia se considerará INJUSTIFICADA. Los estudiantes declarados culpables de falsificar firmas y alterar hojas/notas de ausencia serán enviados a la Oficina de Asistencia para recibir las consecuencias disciplinarias apropiadas. Los estudiantes deben presentar su nota escrita o verificación médica al secretario de asistencia en la oficina de la escuela secundaria. Los maestros reciben el motivo de la ausencia del estudiante el siguiente día escolar. Se requiere que la ausencia se aclare el día de la ausencia, o antes de las 8:15 am de la mañana siguiente o el estudiante será enviado a la oficina. Es responsabilidad del estudiante y de los padres aclarar todas las ausencias proporcionando la verificación adecuada.
