Halloween Costume Guidelines

                                              HALLOWEEN DRESS-UP GUIDELINES

  • No Clown costumes allowed.
  • Costumes must conform to CHS School Dress Code.  This includes appropriate footwear.
  • All props (handbags, wands, capes, etc.) must be in the possession of, or worn by, the student.
  • No underclothing, pajamas, bathing suit or revealing costumes are allowed.
  • Costumes may not be demeaning to any ethnic group, race, religion, nationality, disabilities, gender (no cross dressing, boys as girls and vice versa), or individual (staff or student) at the school.
  • No excessive facial makeup.  Makeup should NOT be brought to school, including tubes of cream, hair color spray, blood, etc.
  • Halloween hair dye and makeup must be applied at home. NO hair dye may be brought to school.
  • Costumes must not impair a student's vision, movement, or restrict participation in PE class.
  • Costumes may not show obscene materials or prohibited substances.
  • Full face masks are not allowed. No costumes are allowed that would completely hide the identity of the student, e.g. gorilla suit.  Do not wear morph suits. It is imperative that you must not have your faces covered by a mask or a morph suit.
  • No baby bottles, pacifiers, false teeth, or anything placed in mouth
  • If you are not sure, don't wear it!  Anyone not following guidelines will be required to change.
  • Suggestion:  Bring an extra set of clothes.
  • No weapons or look-alike weapons of any kind may be brought to school. This includes plastic or wooden. No swords, daggers, knives, guns, etc.
  • Let’s have a good time with dressing up. If you have questions/concerns about your costume, it is probably not a good idea to wear it to school. If you would like to have a teacher or administrator check your costume, bring it ahead of time in a bag and ask for advice.  Remember to keep all costumes in good taste.
