PROM 2016 GUIDELINES & DRESS CODE
Saturday, April 30
6:00 p.m. – 11:45 p.m.

Tickets: $70 per person / $130 per couple – April 4 – 15
$80 per person / $145 per couple – April 18 - 27

Prom is a formal and special night for Calipatria High School students and their approved dates. We hope to maintain the integrity and formality of this night by implementing the following guidelines.
General Guidelines
• Each couple MUST have either a CHS Junior or a CHS Senior in it.
• Single attendees must be either a CHS Junior or CHS Senior.
• You must be at the prom by 7:45 p.m. or you will not be admitted to the dance.
• Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.
• You must attend school on the Friday prior to attend the prom on Saturday.
• Only students with prom tickets and approved chaperones will be allowed into the prom.
• All non-CHS students need to have a Guest Pass to attend.
• Dress Code will be strictly enforced.
• Students will not be allowed to leave Prom until 11:45 p.m.
• Once the student leaves the activities facility and or grounds, he/she will not be permitted to re-enter.
• In case of an emergency, staff, security personnel, or administrators can accompany a student(s) to and from his/her car. Everyone must keep in mind that student safety is of primary importance.
Dress Guidelines (on back)
Dress Code Guidelines
Ladies
 Short dresses and slits must be finger tip length (mid thigh).
 Spaghetti straps and strapless gowns are permitted, however no plunging necklines. Neckline of dress must not be lower than 5” from base of the neck.
 Dresses must not be cut below the bust line. This includes front and sides directly under armpit. Bust area must be covered on the sides of the dress.
 Midriffs will not be exposed. This includes front and back. No side or front cut-outs in dresses below the natural bra line.
 Dresses may be backless as long as they are not cut below the navel. The gown's back may not be lower than the smallest portion of the natural waist line.
 No see through gowns are permitted.
 No cover-up (coat, shawl, or sweater) will be allowed over a dress that does not meet dress code.
 Please use your utmost discretion when selecting a gown to assure that it is tasteful and above reproach.
 No sunglasses allowed.

Gentleman
 Gentlemen must be in a collared shirt with a tie, dress pants and sports coat, OR a suit, OR a Tuxedo.
 Jeans are not allowed.
 A collared, button up shirt is required (no t-shirts).
 Shirts are to be worn at all times.
 Do not wear an athletic cap to the prom.

Please make sure that you are within the above guidelines. (If in doubt, err on the side of the conservative.)

There are hundreds of beautiful, tasteful, and appropriate dresses available for prom. If you have questions concerning your dress, it is your responsibility to seek prior approval from Mrs. Fargo or Mrs. Estrada.

If you are bringing a date from another school, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to make him or her aware of our dress code policy.
