Board Reports

Good evening Board Members, Calipatria Unified School District, and community!

As we’re getting even closer to an end for this school year, ASB has been working on activities to wrap up before this spring break. The Spring Homecoming was a huge success! ASB hosted another great pep rally with fun activities for every class to participate in like lip sync battles. The school has a blast watching everyone perform their dances along with lip syncing and from this competition. We also had a wagon competition where each class had to create a wagon involving all the spring sports and of course representing our hornet pride and like always, the best one won. Then the week before spring break, the Multi-cultural club and Mr. Diaz sponsored an activity where each class has their officers hand out ice cream to everyone at school and we called this an ice cream social! Everyone enjoyed eating a nice treat while being able to walk around and socialize for a bit before we all said goodbye to our spring break. ASB will keep it on for these fun activities as we have not much left in the school year and we are getting near the end of our joyful times together this year!  --Sara Granados

Good evening Board Members, Calipatria Unified School District, and community!

ASB has had lots on their plate lately with activities and events with our school and community. These past few weeks have been fun and exciting as we’ve had a pep rally for the playoffs with games following after. The Boys Basketball made it to the CIF finals and the whole school joined together to f

orm a walkway with hornet high fives to the boys before they took off for their game. This game had lots of school spirit as we had a rooter bus for our band, cheer and strong spirited students to come join and watch the game in San Diego. Thanks to our community for joining us and though it may not have been the outcome we wanted, we had an awesome audience cheering our boys on. Also, another great thanks to all those in our community who participated in our blood drive on February 21st. We met our goal once again! We also will be having more events coming up like high school madness at the fair and possibly a Spring sports week starting March 22nd where we hope to continue our tradition of picking a Homecoming King! --Sara Granados

Good evening Board Members, Calipatria Unified School District, and community!

ASB has been keeping busy with many activities and is only getting busier as we’re entering our second half of the school year. Our Basketball Homecoming has just passed and we enjoyed many activities with the school throughout the whole week. We had activities anywhere from playing games during lunch like cup stack and having creative dress up days like Band T-Shirt day which required students to wear a T shirt from their favorite bands to go sling with our theme this year which was “Hornets Band Together.” Our homecoming Queen Alondra Rodriguez was also announced at the game that evening. Also, during homecoming week, every class worked on posters where each class got to pick a band and base it off of it while still involving school spirit. The class winners for these posters which are currently up in the gym were the seniors! Alongside all of the homecoming, ASB is looking forwards to helping out in our upcoming blood drive which will be on February  21st. ASB will also be attending the Imperial Valley ASB leadership Conference as well on February 1st.

Good evening Board Members, Calipatria Unified School District, and community!

I am your ASB board reporter Sara Granados.

ASB has ended the year off with many Christmas Spirit activities. An activity ASB was entirely in charge of was the parade for the Christmas In the Dark event that happens every year. There were twenty-two parade entries and we got help from our whole highschool student body including class officers. The next Christmas spirit activity we had was Christmas spirit week which was the week right before winter break. It consisted of fun dress ups like pajama day and wearing a Santa hat day. We had made plans to end our Christmas spirit week with activities for COTY points but the weather had other plans for us that day. Also, because of this weather, we had to in fact reschedule our Multicultural Day for another day. Our next activity we have planned and are looking forward to is our Basketball Homecoming week which will be from January 22nd - January 26th.

Good evening School Site Council, Board Members, Calipatria Unified School District, and community!

I am your ASB Board Reporter, Sara Granados.

ASB has been kept busy with the recent Karaoke Hour on November 17th, the day we got out for our Thanksgiving Break. On Karaoke Hour, we announced and recognized the Winter Sports Teams. We recognized the JV and Varsity Boys and Girls Basketball Teams, the soccer team, and the Wrestling team. Before singing karaoke, we had a Pie Eating Contest COTY Comp. The Seniors placed first, Freshmen second, Juniors third, and the sophomores were disqualified due to a lack of participation. The main event of Karoke hour ran smoothly and there was a lot of participation from the students. Looking forward, ASB will be hosting the Christmas in the Dark Parade of Lights on Saturday, December 16th. ASB will also gather a Christmas spirit week starting on December 18th through December 22nd. The CHS multicultural club will be organizing the Multicultural Day on December 22nd.

Board Report for 11/13/2023

Good evening School Site Council, Board Members, Calipatria Unified School District, and community!

I am your ASB board reporter Sara Granados.

ASB has kept busy with days full of activities and dress ups throughout homecoming week and more by celebrating Red Ribbon Week. The homecoming parade was a great success. Thank you to our ASB officers for helping throughout the entire event and of course a big thank you to the 30+ participants from around the community. During homecoming week, we hosted different activities every day until Friday's main event, the parade. Games like musical chairs and oreo eating contests were held during lunch and Fridays C.O.T.Y. competition “down it” was played at the pep rally. Immediately after the parade, the 2023 Grand Marshall, Maria Nena Mendoza, was presented with a plaque to thank her. Then, as done traditionally, the class float winners were announced. I am glad to congratulate the seniors for placing first, the juniors in second and the sophomores and freshman in tie for third place this year. This concluded the parade in excitement for the football game against Kearny. The majority of the students thought that the parade as well as the pep rally was fun, stressful, but overall it was a memorable time and everyone’s favorite part about homecoming was this day. Another upcoming event we are looking forward to is the Axe game. We are having a pep rally where we will introduce our schools clubs and another C.O.T.Y. competition in hopes to build up some excitement for the later night's game. Overall, ASB has just begun with many more activities to come futurely. The Axe games theme is red white, and blue, a salute to service. During the halftime of the game we will be honoring veterans from Holtville and Calipatria. Red ribbon week will conclude with the Halloween costume parade and contest next week on Tuesday.

Good evening Board Members, Calipatria Unified School District, and community!

I am your ASB board reporter Sara Granados.

ASB has had many successful activities this month such as our first pep rally where we introduced our football and volleyball teams along with our cheer team and band. Each class also participated in class competitions where they all received c.o.t.y. Points leading to the spirit stick which is up for grabs this year. We also had our Blood drive and even had a pancake breakfast for students and staff. We are thankful for all our participants from the community. Another part of business we’ve had is Higher Education Week. Students participated in fun dress up days like “Dress For Success” where students dressed up as their future dream career. During this week, ASB also gave out goodies and treats from cupcakes to popsicles for those who were dressed up rather than counting them towards our usual c.o.t.y. points! There are many more activities to come keeping ASB busy this following month as we have our Homecoming activities right around the corner. Per tradition, CHS will hold a Homecoming parade which takes place on October 20, 2023 at 1:30 pm with the football game following that evening at 7 pm. We are excited to host these activities as they are a huge part of our community traditions and ASB can’t wait to see you there!

Good evening Board Members, Calipatria Unified School District, and Community,

I am your ASB board reporter Sara Granados.

ASB has excitingly started off their school year by making hornet pride and welcome back to school posters and signs directing students to their respective teachers' classrooms. We also have begun our first fundraiser of the year with selling P.E. uniforms to the students the first week of school, and also selling polo shirts to staff within our district. ASB is now getting ready for our near future events such as our highschools first pep rally for the year introducing our sports teams, and this year's first blood drive which will take place on September the 27th. To sum up our first few weeks of school, everything has been flowing right on track for this first month of school.

Good Evening Board Members, Calipatria Unified School District, and Community,

My name is Sara Granados, and I am your ASB Board Reporter.

ASB has started off their duties by attending our first meeting in what I am glad to call our new ASB room. We then discussed plans for the freshmen orientation which followed for the next few days after taking place on August 9th and 10th in the gym. During the first day of orientation, the freshmen were introduced to our principal, counselors, a few teachers, as well as each member of our ASB. They were advised about our schools rules and grade requirements needed to surpass their highschool years and were even given a bit of personal advice and life hacks from each one of the ASB members. They then were taken for a mini tour around campus by our ASB officers to learn their ways around the school. The next day then consisted of more fun  activities such as taking the freshmen to meet a few teachers. They later reported back to the gym where they had their last activity which was a good game of dodgeball. Finally, at the end of both days, they were handed goodies as our treat to them for their amazing participation throughout the orientation. Overall, we couldn’t have been happier in giving these freshmen a warm welcome to our school!

Good Evening Board Members, Calipatria Unified School District Staff and Community

Good Evening Board Members, Calipatria Unified School District Staff and Community

My name is Julian Rivera and I’m your ASB board reporter. First of all ASB would like to thank all the community members and organizations that participated in our homecoming parade and made it so successful. We had almost 40 parade entries ranging from BYMS cheerleaders to IV Moto. Lastly this year homecoming parade float winners the the class of 2024 winning to float competitions in a row! Aside from the homecoming parade ASB coordinated a very successful blood drive and a special thanks to all the donors and any who signed up! ASB also had an Axe Game pep rally where our football team and school were able to build up some hype for the game. Not only that but every club on the Calipatria High School campus got to stand up in front of the entire student body and give a description about what their club is about. This was not only a great opportunity for the clubs to get new members but for students to see what our campus has to offer and try something new. ASB and the student body now looks forward to our winter sports!ASB also organized a rooter bus for the Axe Game, however, we ended up taking vans and personal vehicles in order to take our Drum Line, Cheer, Athletic Ambassadors and some of us ASB officers only. ASB upcoming events include a Bring anything but a backpack day on Nov 9 to commemorate the resilience, resolve and resourcefulness of our Veterans. We will follow with a Cowboy Day on Thursday November 10 to celebrate our local Cattle Call Festivities. To send off our students before the break we will have Career Day on Nov 16th and our now traditional Karaoke Day on Friday, Nov 18th. We hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving Break

Good Evening Board Members, Calipatria Unified School District Staff and Community!

My name is Julian Rivera, your ASB Board Reporter.

ASB’s first big endeavor to start off the school year was the first Pep rally of the year. During the pep rally students  participated in a couple of coty competitions. We also got some introductions of this season’s sports teams, both varsity volleyball and football as well as jv and freshman volleyball. We were given a performance by our cheer squad and we ended the day with one final coty competition.  When it was all said and done the Seniors took home the spirit stick. This year is special as the spirit stick now travels from class to class depending on who is in the lead for the class of the year competition. All and all it was a great first  pep rally and we are really for the new school year!

From Frank Zendejas our ASB President:

Hello board I’m sorry I could not attend this meeting I have personal matters that I’m attending at this time but I would like to address what we did at our meeting on August the second, first we went through the general tasks that each officer has to do then we discussed future events that take place throughout the year and how certain events should go after we discussed our plans with the freshman orientation doing so we made posters to go around campus to help guide the incoming freshman and or new students in general and then we went through training to set up the sound systems we have to wrap up the meeting

Good Evening Board Members, Calipatria Unified School District Staff and Community!

My name is Julian Rivera, your ASB Board Reporter.

ASB‘s latest endeavor was the freshman orientation

That took place on August 4 and August 5. The first day incoming freshman got the chance to hear from our new principal. We got a chance to hear about who he is and what you expect for the new school year. Each ASB member got to introduce themselves, say a little about themselves, and give some advice to the incoming freshmen. ASB also got to introduce the incoming freshmen to things such as the class of the year competition and an example of some of the games played. ASB handed out snacks and then passed it over to our counselors who got to talk to the freshman relating to high school classes and what to expect for the next four years. On the second day of the orientation our principal got to speak again and then the freshmen were divided into groups to take a tour of our school. freshmen were introduced to every class and even got to hear from some teachers. ASB passed out snacks and the groups returned to the gym at the end of the tour. All in all it was a great freshman orientation

Good Evening Board Members, Calipatria Unified School District Staff and Community! My name is Jacob Zendejas, your ASB Board Reporter.

ASB’s last endeavor to finish off the school year was the organization of Hornet Olympics. It was a huge success with participation from all the students and staff who all competed in the games we organized. In my opinion, the most fun games were the old ones we brought back from past hornet Olympics which were earth ball and water polo. ASB had also set up a water cool down station in the library for any students needing a place to hydrate and relax in the comfort of a ventilated room. At the end of it all, the Juniors took home the spirit stick with being class of the year. Seniors came in second, with sophomores and freshman trailing behind. ASB also started a new tradition this school year by passing down the torch, symbolized by the ASB of this school year passing a wooden torch to the ASB of next school year. Thank you to Mr. Jeff Zendejas for the beautiful CHS torch! I would also like to say that this will be my last board report and I would like to pass down this job to our new ASB Board Reporter, Julian Rivera.

Hello, my name is Julian Rivera and I will be your board reporter for next school year.  My goal will be to keep you up to date with all Associated Student Body events. Don’t forget to visit our ASB webpage on our CHS website for all our pictures and events.  I look forward to reporting for you beginning in August as our ASB officers will be on hiatus for the rest of the summer.

Good Evening Board Members, Calipatria Unified School District Staff and Community! My name is Jacob Zendejas, your ASB Board Reporter.

This past week, ASB coordinated a spring homecoming where we crowned a homecoming king! The week was full of COTY competitions that took place during lunch with a wide variety of dress ups centered around raising awareness for sexual assault survivors and victims. It all led up to the pep rally coordinated by ASB on Friday where each of the spring sports were announced by their coaches. Mr. Aguilera and his drum line gave an incredible performance in front of the school and each of the homecoming king nominees were announced with their escorts. The thrones made by each class were also shown off at the pep rally with the Juniors winning it all with their creative take on transforming a lawn chair into a throne for our kings. Pictures of the thrones have been uploaded onto our ASB page on the school website.  There were two COTY comps at the pep rally, (1) where one student from each class had to shake ping pong balls out of a tissue box attached to their waist and (2) the entire class was given 50 sheets of paper and was responsible for throwing as many paper airplanes into a ring as possible.

Manuel Salinas was our homecoming king this year and was supposed to get crowned at the homecoming dance but wasn’t able to make it due to their 15 inning game which prevented them from appearing at the dance that night. He was crowned later in the week.

Friday, April 29, was also our last blood drive of the year where we crushed our goal with around 30 donors coming out to donate. Special thanks to those students, district staff members, and community who came out.

ASB’s future plan is the coordination of Hornet Olympics which will take place on May 31st. The day will be split up with the first part of the morning taking place at the football field where events like the 40 meter dash and 4x100 meter relay will take place. The second half of the morning will be in the fields by the cafeteria which is where all our water activities will take place. When students come back from lunch, the rest of the activities will take place in both the gyms and classrooms where we’ll have events such as coed basketball and volleyball as well as video game competitions in Mr. Gupton’s classroom. We will be bringing back classic events that Calipat alumni will remember such as Earth ball and water polo with the help from the Calipatria Fire Dept. We will also have a variety of new events for the students to partake in. A live DJ and shaved ice will be available for students to enjoy throughout the day. ASB is still constantly working on more surprises for the students before the day comes.

Thank you for your time.

Good Evening Board Members, Calipatria Unified School District Staff and Community! My name is Jacob Zendejas, your ASB Board Reporter.

This past weekend, Calipatria High School’s PROM was held on April 9th at Anaya Ranch. Prom tickets were sold out with a total of 121 tickets sold. Many of the students claimed they had a blast. Mr. Widmann was kind enough to bring Jack in the Box tacos. There was a DJ, a photographer, a photo booth, and catering crew that served the students food. There were also plenty of sweets offered to any students wanting them. The prom lasted from 6PM to 11PM.

Last Friday, the Juniors had their Junior For a Day Fundraiser where a total of 21 Juniors and 2 Staff members were auctioned off. The two staff members were Mr. Widmann and Mrs. Vellas. The starting bid for students was $20 and the starting bid for the staff members was $50. The Junior class earned approximately $2000 from this fundraiser. This Wednesday will be the day that the Juniors follow around the person that has purchased them.

ASB has decided to start a new tradition this year by planning a Spring Homecoming from April 25th to April 29th to celebrate our spring sports. Traditional Dress Up Days and COTY competitions are to be announced. There will also be a Sadie Hawkins Dance that will be put on by the sophomores, Class of 2024. The dance will take place on Friday April 29th where students will vote on our first ever, Homecoming King!

Our final Blood Drive for the year will be on Friday, April 29th. It is open to all students, staff, and the community. You can register online through our CHS ASB webpage but walk-ins are welcomed as well. If any of you are interested in donating, just remember to eat well and hydrate before your donation. The van will be located at the front entrance of the high school from 8 AM to 1 PM.

Thank you for your time.

A rooter bus was organized by Mr. Rosales for students to attend the CIF Semi-Final game for girls basketball in Palo Verde. The bus included 52 students which included our drumline and cheer squad. Our student body cheered on our girls and had signs made for the game, special thanks to Mr. Frank Perez for the spirit towels. Before leaving for the game, ASB organized a Pep Rally to celebrate our wrestlers that made it to Masters and motivate our Hornet Ladies for their CIF Game. Thanks to Mr. Fong for getting the students fired up!

Last Monday, High School Madness was held at the Mid-Winter Fairgrounds where students from Calipatria showed off their school spirit by chanting and competing against the other high schools in multiple competitions. Mr. Rosales, with the help from ASB, ended up selling 193 HS madness tickets to students looking forward to attending. A rooter bus was also organized for any students in need of a ride for HS madness to get to and from the fairgrounds.Along with the students, CHS had their cheer squad and newly formed drumline attending HS madness, where each performed on stage in front of the crowd. The drumline is led by Mr. Aguilera who has given students the opportunity to show off their musical talents or to gain new interests in instruments they’ve never used before. Mr. Aguilera plans to have the drumline play at future baseball and softball games. Our cheer squad participated and did an exceptional job representing at high school madness. Thanks to Coach Allison Spence for all she does.

Thank you for your time.

Three weeks ago, Calipatria High School celebrated their Winter Homecoming with a week full of COTY competitions for the classes to compete in. Some of these competitions were a POP the balloon challenge and a donut eating contest. Each day of the week also included a DRESS UP which helped students gain even more COTY points for their class. At the end of the week, ASB coordinated a pep rally on the football field where athletes from soccer, wrestling, and basketball were each announced by either their coaches or team captains. The homecoming court for this year’s winter homecoming was also announced. The pep rally included a soccer ball passing COTY competition as well as a performance by the high school cheer squad. Each class was responsible for creating an 8’ by 6’ “Space Jam” themed poster which is supposed to incorporate all three winter sports as well as plenty of Hornet Spirit. The posters were put up in the new gym for the Homecoming boy’s basketball game. The sophomores came in first for the poster contest, with seniors in second, freshmen third, and juniors fourth. I would like to congratulate our 2022 Winter Homecoming Queen, Mya Spence.

Coming up for our Student Body is the California Mid-Winter Fair High School madness which will take place on March 7th; we are waiting on confirmation and logistics for this event.  We have also opened up another opportunity for our musically talented students, the drum line has begun preparing for High School Madness.

Finally, ASB coordinated another successful blood drive that took place yesterday in front of the school from 8AM to 1PM. A majority of the donors were from community members and faculty at CHS.

Thank you for your time.

Good Evening Board Members, Calipatria Unified School District Staff and Community!

My name is Kylie Lylerly, your ASB Board Reporter.

ASB helped Mr. Mesa and his Multicultural Club in organizing a Multicultural day for the last day of school before winter break. It involved a handful of teachers with the help from their students who brought food and drinks from different cultures for the school to try. It was held in the dirt area behind the new gym.

There was also a school-wide talent show at the end of the day which featured performances from students who sang and danced in front of the school.

ASB also organized the parade that took place at Christmas in the Dark. The Grand Marshal of the parade was Mr. Alfonso Romero, who was chosen by the Calipatria Chamber of commerce--  an unsung hero that lives and volunteers in our city.  Often those that make a difference by volunteering in our community do it quietly.  Thank you for the enormous difference you have made in the lives of so many in our Calipatria Community. The parade featured many community members, local churches, BYMS and CHS cheer squads and finally our traditional fire department with Santa riding on top of the fire truck. Overall, the parade was a success.

ASB is currently planning our Homecoming Week which will be next week from January 18th to January 21st.  We will finalize details which will be posted in our school website this Wednesday.  Classes will compete in our traditional Homecoming Poster Contest which will be displayed at the Homecoming Game  Friday, January 21st.  Boys basketball against Imperial.

The Freshmen class, Class of 2025 is currently working on putting on the Homecoming Dance which will be held outdoors on Saturday, January 22nd.  ASB is working closely with the class to ensure the safety of all those students that attend.  Thank you for your time.

Good Evening Board Members, Calipatria Unified School District Staff and Community!

My name is Jacob Zendejas, your ASB Board Reporter.

The “anything but a backpack” day was a huge success as it was one of our largest turnouts for participation from students. ASB’s Western Day also had a large turnout with a cornhole COTY competition that was held during lunch.

The last school day before Thanksgiving break, Mr. Derma cooked pancakes for the high school and ASB coordinated a pumpkin pie eating COTY competition. ASB also had karaoke where students or teachers were able to come up and sing a song of their choice in front of the school.

This week, ASB is having a week full of Christmas themed dress ups and COTY Competitions. All dress ups and competitions can be viewed in detail on the school website. This Friday is multicultural day, where classes will prepare dishes from across the globe for students to try. That same day, there will also be a talent show. The City of Calipatria Chamber has also asked ASB to help organize and run the Christmas in the Dark Parade this year which will be held on December 18th. I would like to invite all the board members and CUSD staff to attend the parade.

Thank you for your time.

ASB exceeded their expectations for the turn out with the local blood drive hosted two weeks ago. Our 2021 homecoming theme this year was Pixar with the slogan, To Infinity and Beyond. Throughout the week we had dress ups such as wearing red for the blood drive and dressing up as Pixar. During lunch we hosted Coty competitions between the classes, our student participation was very high. ASB also successfully coordinated the Homecoming pep rally with exceptional community involvement.   The pep rally consisted of plenty of COTY competitions as well as the announcement of the winner of the float competition which was the sophomores, class of 2024. Coach Pete Spence was announced as the Grand Marshal and the fall sports were introduced one last time in front of the school.  We would like to thank all community organizations as well as our own district for their participation and help with all the festivities.  You are able to find pictures and more information on our school website under the ASB page.

At the AXE game, ASB coordinated a PINK OUT  in the student section, where students were asked to wear pink while they cheered on the football team at the game.  On Friday, October 29th, the Sophomore class (Class of 2024), hosted an outdoor Homecoming Dance.  We had an incredible turnout, about 100 students who enjoyed some Jack tacos sponsored by ASB!

This Wednesday, ASB is planning on a BRING ANYTHING BUT A BACKPACK DAY, where students are able to bring their school supplies in anything but a backpack. It will commemorate Veterans Day by demonstrating the resilience and resourcefullness of those who have fought and served our country. This Friday will be a WESTERN DRESS UP DAY, for the upcoming Cattle Call events.  Thank you for your time.

Good Evening Board Members, Calipatria Unified School District Staff and Community!

My name is EMILY HERNANDEZ and I am the ASB PARLIAMENTARIAN FOR THIS SCHOOL YEAR.

ASB coordinated another successful pep rally two weeks ago where the students participated in a blind-folded football throwing COTY competition. During the pep rally, ASB raffled off 10 gift cards to students with perfect attendance. Also, Mr. Hughes recognized all scholar athletes from the 2020-2021 season who were awarded by CIF with patches. The pep rally was finished off with a hornet spell out from each class led by Mr. Vega.

I would like to invite the board members to our 66th annual Homecoming parade on October 22nd at 10 AM. This year’s homecoming theme is centered around Pixar movies with each class being responsible for a float. The homecoming court  this year is Adria Marquez, Alyssa Singh, and Karen Olmeda. The parade will end off with a pep rally where the winning floats will be announced. The Varsity Head football coach, Mr. Self, will speak on his football team and the Grand Marshall will be awarded. Leading up to that Friday, ASB will be having COTY competitions everyday during lunch along with dress up days so that students can gain COTY points for their class. This year, ASB wanted to incorporate more of the community in the parade so ASB officers went around Calipatria inviting local businesses to be a part of the parade as well.

I would also like to invite the board members as well as members of the community to take part in our blood drive on October 20th from 8 AM to 1 PM. The San Diego Blood Bank is partnering with the ASB to host the blood drive. Students 17 and older are allowed to donate blood and students younger than 17 are able to get someone to “sponsor” them where someone 18 or older can donate on their behalf. Anyone from the community is welcome to donate blood as well. Due to the pandemic, the San Diego Blood Bank has faced a major shortage of blood supply so if you can, please donate! Thank you for your time.

Good Evening Board Members, Calipatria Unified School District Staff and Community!

My name is KYLIE LYERLY and I am the ASB PRESIDENT FOR THIS SCHOOL YEAR.

Mr. Rosales and the ASB officers coordinated a really successful pep rally for the fall sports, with great participation from all the students. The fall sports were each introduced in front of the school by their coaches or team captains. The classes also competed in a bricklaying COTY competition across the track where the Juniors got 1ST, the Seniors got 2ND, the Sophomores got 3RD, and the Freshmen got 4TH. During these past weeks, ASB has played music every Friday morning and at lunch as a way to congratulate students for finishing their week of school. We are also  pleased to announce that the Freshmen have elected their class officers. Thank you for your time.

Good Evening Board Members, Calipatria Unified School District Staff and Community!

My name is JACOB ZENDEJAS and I am the ASB BOARD REPORTER FOR THIS SCHOOL YEAR.

ASB began the school year with an introductory meeting and training from Mr. Rosales 2 weeks before school started.  In planning and preparing for the new school year, our ASB officers met and created welcome posters that we displayed throughout our campus.  We also provided a Virtual Campus tour for our students that we uploaded to our Social Media Accounts and our ASB page.  We would like to invite everyone to add us on twitter: @CHSHornets    on instagram @calipatriahornets and of course visit through our CHS website ASB page: www.chs.calipatriahornets.org .  Our ASB officers also participated in the Freshmen Orientation where each officer shared their school involvement as well as a “CHS Life Hack Advice” for the freshmen.  During this week of school Freshmen will be participating in the Class Elections, we are pleased to announce that all other classes have elected officers. I would also like to invite the board members to our first pep rally this Wednesday at 8:30 in the morning at the football field where we will be introducing the fall sports teams. We will also be having a blindfolded football throwing COTY competition. Thank you for your time.
